Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, the daughter of a musician from Mexico, was born to the music-loving parents of her family. She was raised listening to classical Boleros from the past along with traditional romantic and Ranchero songs. Ana enjoys tangos and opera and dramatic performances. At age 16 she began singing and learning the piano with her mom. Flavio, a Mexican tenor of great renown began giving her a more intensive singing instruction. Music lessons continued throughout the School of Music of Guadalajara University. Later, she attended the School of Sacred Music of Toluca. In her early career, she saw her perform with many chamber ensembles and opera choruses and chamber groups in Guadalajara. Following her move in the United States, she performed in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. After 2002 she relocated to southern California. She sings in Ensemble XXI Redlands, and is a performer of Latin American traditional music solo at many private events. As a musician and teacher she has volunteered for many projects in the community due to her enthusiasm and passion for music. Ana has been a member of Community Chorus of Redlands (as well as Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana is thankful for the opportunity to share her love and enthusiasm for traditional Latin American songs with others as she hopes to instill a sense of, especially among younger generations, to help keep this music vibrant and alive.Viva Mexico!
